It has been several years since the Vendée upgrades itself as a quality destination, with its accommodations and activities but also with its gastronomy.
for the pleasure of locals and visitors alike, good addresses are more and more, as well as the recognized and award-winning tables in the gastronomic guides.

The most famous of them, the Michelin Guide, has just rewarded 7 chefs from vendée for 2018 including a new first star.

The restaurant Le Pousse-Pied, in La Tranche-sur-Mer, has just won its first distinction. Its chef, Anthony Lumet, 27 years old, get his first star just four years after the opening of his restaurant and is among the youngest graduates of the year.
He defines himself as “a bistronomic restaurant essentially focused on the sea. A cuisine of fresh and seasonal products.”

The other restaurants in Vendée listed in the Red Guide have kept their stars.

Alexandre Couillon of “La Marine” in Noirmoutier: 2 stars
In a contemporary setting in black and white, facing the fishing port of L’Herbaudière, the Chef applies to surprise the guests with his creative recipes, meticulously executed without betraying the nature of the product … No detail escapes to Celine, his wife, who extend perfection to the tables.

Thierry Drapeau of the “Logis de la Chabotterie”, Saint-Sulpice-le-Verdon: 2 stars
In the idyllic setting of Logis de la Chabotterie, Thierry Drapeau’s restaurant has been in the prestigious “Relais et Châteaux” guide since 2014.
A great reward for this Chef with 2 Michelin stars who offers a cuisine with flavors borrowed from all regions of France visited during his career. Fine and refined, his cooking is generous in emotion and sensations. He attaches great importance to the decoration of his plates.

Nicolas Coutand des “Genêts” in Brem-sur-Mer: 1 star
Very passionate about cooking, Nicolas Coutand started out in prestigious restaurants. After several successful experiences, he decided to return in Vendée and opened a gourmet restaurant: Les Genêts in Brem sur Mer. Designated “young talent” by the Gault Millau in 2014 and ranked 2 “couverts” in the 2015 Michelin Guide, Chef Nicolas Coutand did not stop there! He was awarded the precious Michelin star on February 9, 2017.

He likes to highlight the products of the region through light plates, of great finesse, offered at reasonable prices. Notice to lovers of modern and creative cuisine!
